Les Francos de Montréal were off to a strong start last night, with the Quartier des Festivals buzzing with people just like pre-pandemic times! We started the night on Place des Arts, with the grand opening outdoor show featuring Koriass. Not a stranger to this main stage, the Quebec rapper presented tracks from his latest album Abri de fortune (pour fin du monde).
Meanwhile, over at MTelus, Quebec pop singer and 2019 Polaris Prize finalist Laurence Anne kicked off the evening. Shortly after 10pm, French psych-punk sensation La Femme arrived on stage in front of a sold-out audience. All dressed in matching white tuxedos, the 6-piece band had the room bouncing and singing along to every track.
All in all, last night was a great way to kick off the festival, and we cannot wait for the next few days!
Les Francos de Montréal are taking place from June 10th to 18th around Montreal’s Place des Arts. For tickets and more information, visit the festival’s website. To keep track of all the shows, learn more about the artists and build your own schedule, you should also download the Les Francos mobile app, available on Apple and Android.
Hi there! My name is Marie, I am French born and raised, now living in Montreal. I work in Marketing by day, and I’m an avid concert-goer by night. I have always had a passion for photography, and realized that this mixes quite well with my love for live music (the absolute best way to experience music, if you ask me).
