On Saturday, July 2, 2022, The Grove, a local Youth Wellness Hubs of Ontario initiative offering a one-stop shop for youth mental health and wellness services will host its first annual community fundraising event, ignite concert 2022: in support of youth mental health in partnership with presenting sponsor, Skyline Group of Companies (Skyline).
The two have announced the lineup for ignite, as well as additional event highlights that will take place at The GrandWay Events Centre in Elora, Ontario this summer.
These musical acts will be mixed in with other highlights such as presentations from The Grove and an original song which was written by Alan Doyle, lead singer of the Canadian folk rock band Great Big Sea, in collaboration with local youth. This outdoor event will also feature a food truck alley, beer garden, VIP patio, artist merchandise tents, and more.
“We are thrilled to announce this lineup for ignite,” says Jeff Hoffman, Chief Development Officer at The Grove. “We sought out artists that would appeal to all community members, so that everyone could be included and enjoy the celebrations we’re having together. We’re so excited to gather the community together to raise awareness for youth mental health – it’s going to be something you don’t want to miss.”
As the presenting sponsor of ignite, Skyline continues to show its support of The Grove, previously demonstrated in the opening of Skyline Community Hub, the first shared community workspace in Fergus, Ontario. Offering subsidized rent and shared resources, the Hub allows for community providers to spend less on operating costs, so that more funds can be directed back into the community.
Skyline Community Hub became home to The Grove Fergus location in August of 2021, as well as a variety of like-minded service providers and community innovators who share a common goal of serving and supporting their local community.
“Through working with The Grove Hubs, we have seen how our shared values have been able to positively impact the Guelph and Wellington community,” says R. Jason Ashdown, Co-Founder and Chief Sustainability Officer of Skyline Group of Companies. “Our joint mission of creating sustainable and deeply rooted communities means supporting the current needs of our community members. Right now, our youth need us to rally around them with support, and there’s no better place to start than at ignite this summer.”
