Who: Meghan Patrick & Kris Barclay
When: April 9, 2022
Where: Meridian Theatre @ Centerpointe, Ottawa ON
Award-winning country superstar, Meghan Patrick, brought down the house at Ottawa’s Meridian Theatre @ Centerpointe this past Saturday night.
Although Patrick has been celebrating the release of her third album, Heart on My Glass, in 2021, the night’s performance was to make up for the lost time when her original tour for her 2019 EP, Wild as Me, was cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Her fans were more than ready for a good country night out, and sang at the top of their lungs to some of Patrick’s biggest hits, such as “Country Made Me Do It” and “Wild as Me,” as well as album and fan favourites, such as “Be Country With Me” and “Wild as Me.” There were also some hand-picked covers for everyone, including Patrick’s opening number, Led Zepplin’s “When The Levee Breaks,” the Dolly Parton favourite, “Jolene” and Alannah Myles’ classic, “Black Velvet”
Country fans were also delighted by an opening performance by Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase Winner, Kris Barclay, who performed several of his breakthrough singles, such as “Loved You Like That” and his latest single, “More than Whiskey.”
After two long years of patiently waiting for a night like Saturday, fans of country music were treated to a great night out to celebrate the music they love, thanks to Meghan Patrick and Kris Barclay!

Born and raised with thoughts and aspirations of becoming a famous bassist in Sarnia, ON; Emily Plunkett now lives in Gatineau, QC, and considers National Capital Region home sweet home. A product of the Beatles, MuchMusic and the Southwestern Ontario summer festival circuit (circa 2000), her interest and love in concert photography came almost completely by accident when her journalism program at Algonquin College required courses in photojournalism (and she quickly realized that photos taken at concerts using a DSLR are enormously better than ones she was taking on a point-and-shoot she bought for a trip to England). She is extremely proud of the fact she has seen Sloan in some form or another 25 times.
