Toronto, ON-based indie-pop artist, goodheart has unveiled her new single, “Running From You”, which was produced by goodheart and recorded both in her apartment and at Toronto’s Giant Studio. It also includes performances from Connor MacArthur (drums) and Mitch Holmes (bass, guitar).
Capturing feelings of frustration, “Running From You” is The Strokes meets Paramore, a fresh find for any pre-party pump up or fierce femmes sound. Inspired by an overbearing boss, it captures feelings of rebellion towards conformity while trying to find a place in the world.
About the single, goodheart shares:
“Being in your twenties can be frustrating, you’re supposed to be a grownup, have a full-time job and act like you have everything figured out – but I still feel like a kid and some days I just want to run away from it all. I wrote this song in 10 minutes when I was in a frustrated state about all that, it’s the personification of those feelings.”
