Calgary-born, Los-Angeles based faceless lo-fi artist, nohidea has unveiled his new single, “Joy”. The single features vocals by Nashville-based singer Maath You (aka Matthew Wentworth) from Post-Hardcore band, Our Last Night, and is the first single to be released from nohidea’s first album in over 2 years, Psychonautica, which is set for release on June 17, 2022. I also feel the need to tell you that the upcoming album features 26 tracks! Yes, 26!
All artwork, social media clips, etc for the single and the album are created by SUS BOY, who is nohidea’s creative director, and has created mesmerizing visuals for each track on the album, which is a fabulous idea and takes listeners on both an audio and optical journey.
When I heard the first verse of the single, I was immediately transported to the early 2000s emo sound, mixed with an almost hypnotizing beat, it’s a track I highly recommend you check out for something a bit different than a lot of music being released these days.
