Montreal, QC-based artist, Val Thomas has unveiled a video for her single, “Last Drop”.
The single is about being ready for change, for a shift. There is a strong emotion of resolve that translates into a classic folk tune supported by Montreal trailblazers Jace Lasek and Brad Barr. Produced by Jace and Brad at Montreal’s Breakglass Studio on analogue gear, Val’s soft lead voice and male back vocals make this single a beautiful offering.
The track was written in one sitting and was then recorded as a one-take in the studio with Jace Lasek who invited Brad Barr (The Barr Brothers), Mike O’Brien (Sin & Swoon, El Coyotees), and Jason Kent (Sunfields Band) to put back vocals, which gives the song depth and dimension.
The accompanying video was created in the same spirit, as an improvised dance on a one-take shot. It’s a raw expression of needing to move to a new horizon and back to the heart of what matters, invoking some kind of healing.
