Toronto, ON-based artist, Specyal T has unveiled her latest single, “Lowkey”, the sultry soul hip-hop track about the immediate connection you sometimes feel when meeting someone for the first time. Specyal T sings about “The butterflies and magnetic ties,” as “the world around melts” as she thinks about that special someone.
“It’s about having an instant vibe and attraction to them but without knowing their situation. You want to keep it on the down-low while at the same time getting the vibe that they’re feeling you too,” Specyal T says.
“Lowkey” also has an accompanying music video featuring a barista getting ready for work and a woman on a bus, as they think about that special connection they have with someone they just encountered.
On top of this single, Specyal T is working on a few other singles she plans on releasing later this year.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m Specyal T, a pro musician and versatile music artist from Toronto.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
I’d describe my music as unique, soulful, and distinctive. I’m inspired by my life experiences, the people in my life, and the world around me. My main genres are hip-hop and r&b.
What have you been doing to keep yourself creative during the pandemic?
I’ve been busy in studio working on and releasing new music. My third studio album A Specyal Remedy came out in 2020, My latest EP Slight Detour dropped last year along with a demo album No Chaser with my band Chasing Sunday. I also just released my latest single “Lowkey.”
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
That’s tricky as I do have a lot of music to choose from. Given the current time we’re in with this pandemic, and with things re-opening and people looking to connect again in person while enjoying those good vibes, I’d go with my new upcoming single “Double Take.”
