Who: Tyler, The Creator / Kali Uchis / Vince Staples / Teezo Touchdown
Where: Place Bell, Laval QC
When: March 9th, 2022
For our first Montreal show of the year, it was only fitting that we made our way back to Laval, where we closed 2021 with Polo & Pan! Following a short power outage right before the doors open, hip hop fans crowded around the venue for last night’s stop of Tyler, The Creator‘s Call Me If You Get Lost tour.
Following opening sets by the eccentric Teezo Touchdown, the moody Vince Staples and the enchanting Kali Uchis, Tyler rose on stage in a vintage car and under a thunder of screams around 10 pm. His 1-hr set was packed with incredible production value: from a full house with balcony on stage, an insane amount of pyrotechnics, and a b-stage covered in vegetation to which he traveled on an actual yacht, fans definitely got their money’s worth of stunts!
It’s no secret that Tyler is a rap superstar in the making, but his performance was truly incredible, filled with energy and his signature dance moves as he performed through songs from his last two albums (Call Me If You Get Lost and Igor), as well as his famous crowd-pleaser (See You Again, Who Dat Boy, Yonkers, Tamale) that sent the general admission floor into a moshpit frenzy. All in all, last night was one for the books, and an epic way to bring general admission shows back to Quebec!
