Well, happy Music Monday everyone! We’re back with the brand new music that you all can find here on our website. These will be the five articles, done by our hard-working authors that I have handpicked, especially for you this week. You will be able to find a link to each of these articles below in my picks of the week. But first, let me welcome you to this week’s edition of “Zach’s Picks of the Week”, here on Canadian Beats. This is where I give you my recommendations of the week from our lovely website, delivered in video form as well as word form. So let’s get right into it, here are your picks of the week that’s chosen by me, Zach Coopz.
5. To start things off, we’ve got the brand new single from Sierra Pilot called, “Alive” which you can stream now. The meaning behind this single is a straightforward message about living life to the fullest, and not letting it beat you down. It’s a song that for lack of a better word, will make you feel “Alive” while you’re listening to it. Be sure to check it out HERE.
4. Taking the trip to the West Coast of Canada, we meet up with country rocker Marshall Potts who’s unveiled his latest single, “The Storm”. Be sure to check it out now on all of your favourite streaming platforms. Potts creates and delivers the universal messages of positivity and optimism in his music. There’s much to learn about this incredible country songwriter in the article that we posted last week for the release of “The Storm”. You can check it out HERE and please go to show some love to Marshall Potts online!
3. Coming up next, Toronto’s Jesse Maxwell and his new single “nosedive”, which is available to stream now. Not only does the melody & beats create an earworm for the senses. The story that’s told will be relatable to almost everyone, maybe for themselves or someone that they know. Be sure to check out the brand new interview conducted by our very own Pamela Roz with Jesse Maxwell HERE.
2. Making it in at second place for my picks this week is Edmonton alt-pop/new wave rockers Evil Tongues. They have just dropped their debut single titled, “Fine” and you can find it on all streaming platforms to add to your playlist. Their first single was born from the global pandemic that pushed the pair to the top of their songwriting prowess. “Picture someone wandering aimlessly around their house, talking to themselves, playing guitar in the middle of the night, and lying on their floor during the day. That’s probably a pretty accurate mental picture of where I was at,” says singer Jennifer Di. If you’d like to learn more about this incredible new duo, be sure to check out the article that was posted last week on the website HERE.
1. My final choice this week is going to Canadian indie folk-rocker Edison Rupert, who’s released a video for his single, “Ticket To A Place”. The new single starts out with marching, percussive electric guitar as Rupert tells the sad tale. The story begins in the first person, as Rupert is narrating the empty, anonymous existence of a cipher. Be sure to check out the new video in the article on our website HERE, but also please go check out Edison Rupert on all of his social platforms and give him a follow!
I hope you enjoyed my list of articles and posts from our website this week. There will always be new music coming out via our website, so be sure to stay tuned for more music posted every day! I hope you’re all having an amazing week out there and if not, then be sure to turn that frown upside down. I’ll hopefully see you next week, here on the best website online for new Canadian music. As always, PEACE, LOVE, AND GOOD MUSIC EVERYONE!!
