I’ll repeat, our hard-working authors are always posting and interviewing new Canadian bands and artists. But right now we’re here to talk about my recommendation, so let’s dive right into it with our first video in almost 8 weeks.
5. To start things off we have Montreal’s Cam Maclean who has dropped his single, “Shy Companion” on all streaming platforms. It was produced by Polaris Music Prize-winning producer, Rollie Pemberton (aka Cadence Weapon). This new single is the fourth to come from his upcoming album of original music. Previous releases include “Life Is Not”, “See How I Miss You”, and “Crossing Over”, so go check them all out and keep an eye out for that new album. If you would like to learn more about this new single and amazing artist, please check out the article HERE.
4. So it looks like following the release of their album, Original Classic, via Last Gang Records in November, the Toronto trio known as, Keys N Krates have shared a new animated video by Bird Peterson for the title track “Original Classic”. The track features guest vocals by Chip, Marble, Juicy J, and the new video can be viewed in the following article. The 13-track project can be streamed right now on any of your favourite streaming platforms. However, if you’d like to learn more about this incredible trio, be sure to check out the article HERE.
3. Well, congratulations are in order for the Ontario rock trio Excuses Excuses, who have recently announced that they signed to Canadian rock label “Known Accomplice”, the home to some of Canada’s best rock bands, such as the likes of the Sam Roberts Band, Moist, The Trews, Headstones, and many more. But that’s not all, they also recently shared their new single “Far From Perfect”. Be sure to go and find it on all your favourite streaming platforms now. To learn more about this incredible step forward in this band’s journey, visit the article HERE.
2) Coming up next is our brand new interview with Toronto, ON-based rock duo, The Manic Boys and Girls Club. They have recently dropped a remix to their track, “Blacked Out” by composer, producer, and musician Paul Andrews. You can stream the new single remix on all your favourite streaming platforms as of right now. But its original form, “Blacked Out” already kicks butt when you listen to it. Only, now with Andrews’ treatment of the track reveals nostalgic and surreal vibes. Be sure to check out the full interview conducted by our very own Jenna Melanson with “The Manic Boys and Girls Club” HERE.
1. This is going to be my final pick of the week and it goes out to our Five Questions With segment with Edmonton based Metis artist Robin Cisek. She’s recently unveiled a video for her single, “Memories”. The video will be attached to the article or you can find it on all streaming sites now. This video takes inspiration from sci-fi media and futuristic techwear styles to illustrate the individualized and very personal struggle that people have with their mental health. Don’t forget to check out the brand new quick interview we had with Robin Cisek HERE.
