Zach’s Picks of the Week – January 24, 2022 to January 29, 2022

Happy Music Mondays everyone out there reading my post! I hope you are all doing amazing and are all jazzed up for some new music here on Canadian Beats. We, of course, have another list of recommended articles here on this week’s edition of Zach’s Picks Of The Week. All of this amazing new music is brought to you by our hard-working and amazing authors, that write for our lovely website. But we’re here to talk about this week’s five picks of the week, that I have chosen and am listening to currently as I write these words. So please join me as we explore my recommendations of the week, nicknamed “Zach’s Picks Of The Week”.

5. Kicking things off, we introduced Toronto psych-rock artist Rise Carmine. He’s recently dropped his new single, “Weight of the World” on all your favourite streaming platforms. This single is accompanied by a new video by Artyom Savin. It includes opposed images of a young musician’s room, decorated with posters of the ’70s rock bands from which the song draws inspiration. 4. Coming up next it’s the brand new album review for I hate ur guts, the latest release from Vancouver’s rising pop artist, Madisyn Gifford. It’s available on all of your favourite streaming platforms, so be sure to go and check it out for yourself. This album is coming hot on the heels of her debut EP, Learning To Exist.  This new release delves into the beginnings of a crumbling relationship, going from what was one of the protagonist’s best relationships to their partner pushing them away. 3. Now, we have an interview with Canadian singer-songwriter, Kelly Besd. She has unveiled her newest single, “Dreamin’” off of her debut album Back To Me. But this latest single is a hard-hitting track shining the spotlight on racial injustice and discrimination. Kelly joins forces with Jackie Art and K-Riz and they offer their reflections and words of hope throughout this new single. 2. Next up we’ve got Americana-folk duo, Clever Hopes (Andrew Shaver & Eva Foote) who have released their debut album, Artefact. But you can find it on all streaming platforms now. 1. My final pick of the week is going to be going to Toronto, ON-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist GRAE. She has unveiled her latest single, “Room In The Desert” and it can be streamed on all platforms. This new single is also accompanied by a brand new music video. On top of this new single, she has also announced the release of her debut LP, Whiplash, which you can expect to see released on April 15, 2022.
