You better watch out, you better not cry. You better not pout, cuz I’m telling you why. Zach’s Picks Of The Week has returned. Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to all oh, my name is Zach. Welcome to my list of recommendations from our website Canadian Beach this week. Unfortunately, there’s no video this week, but at least still have lots of new music to share. But of course, these articles would not be possible, if it weren’t for the incredible authors who work tirelessly to get the new music out there. So it have further ado let’s check out their hard work, here are my picks of the week.
5. First up we have Edmonton based-band Red Grace, who released their newest single, “The Time”. This new track was created to be the opening theme song to the independent podcast, “A STO Life: Shutdowns, Turnarounds, and Outages,” which highlights the “underdogs” in society. The message behind the song is, “Time is a constant so don’t waste it” especially when it comes to listening to this song. Be sure to check out the full 5 question article we posted here on the website with the band. Check it out HERE, and also I encourage you to please go follow Red Grace online.
4. Coming up next, we’ve got something for the holidays from Toronto pop-rock quartet Jane’s Party. They just released “Santa’s Getting Lit” on all streaming platforms and is an ode to how hard Santa is working on Christmas Eve. It’s accompanied by a music video featuring Santa, just going around Hollywood, Malibu, and Joshua Tree and kicking his feet up to enjoy his time off. Be sure to see the full video for this new track from Jane’s Party in the article we post on the website. Check it out HERE if you would like to enjoy “Santa’s Getting Lit” this holiday season.
3. My third pick of the week has to go out to Halifax, NS-based rockers The Flakes. They recently released their debut album, Elephant In The Room on all streaming platforms. But they also dropped their anthemic new single “When I Get It”. It’s a freight train of sound that builds momentum throughout, “When I Get It” showcasing the band’s exceptional musicianship start to finish. You can now check out the full article HERE.
2. A few weekends ago, our correspondence Toni Sousa attended a show for local Toronto post-punk band TV Dinner. Best known for their unique musical style and lead singer Alyssa’s striking vocals. The band made their return to the live stage in a big way – by taking over the Lee’s Palace stage. They shared the stage with fellow Toronto acts, Fluffio & The RPC, Numb Tongues, and Summer Heights. We were provided photo coverage by JanineVPhotography on Facebook, so be sure to check out these amazing shots in the show review. Check out her review HERE.
1. My final pick of the week is going to be at our brand new Five Questions With segment with Toronto, ON-based songwriter and producer, Mike Legere. He has released his new single, “Love Songs (In Fear Of Dying Penniless)” to all streaming platforms. He produced a video with Greg Francis (Century Thief) for this new single back In 2019. After experiencing the passing of a loved one, the destruction of the studio he worked at during a flash flood, and the end of his 10-year relationship. If you want to know more, then be sure to go check out the Five Questions With segment HERE.
