Canadian country artist, Emily Clair has teamed up with us at Canadian Beats to unveil her live-off the-floor video for “Limousine (Stripped)” – the seventh and final track from her debut EP, Stripped.
Produced by CMAO-nominated Shawn Moore, Stripped features raw, unedited, live off-the-floor versions of the Kingston, ON-based artist’s complete 7-single release catalogue, all of which were recorded at Hamilton’s Catherine North Studios. A full slate of videos by Roadhouse Productions captured the complete recording process of the EP.
Recalling the story behind “Limousine”, Emily Clair says,
“This was my second song pitch, and little did I know that I would be cutting a single from one of my favourite Canadian country artists, Jessica Mitchell, along with two writers I look up to – Patricia Conroy and Dave Thomson. When I listened to the demo, I was scanning through a bunch of songs very quickly, until I heard a familiar voice and a song that I instantly fell in love with. When I looked at the writers it was obvious as to why I gravitated to ‘Limousine’. It’s not often that a new artist gets to record her favourite artist’s song, and that is what makes ‘Limousine’ so special to me. Recording this song live off the floor really allows the listener to feel as if they are in the room with me and experience my own connection to the song, as they develop their own.”
