Who: July Talk, Luna Li
Where: Corona Theater, Montreal QC
When: November 30th, 2021
A couple months after their electric Osheaga Get-Together set, July Talk returned to Montreal last night with their Live at Last tour, which kicked off on Sunday in Ottawa and will take the band across Canada for 16 dates.
Instead of bringing the same opener every date as it is typically done, the band decided to invite a different artist they love every single night. Last night’s show was opened by Toronto’s Luna Li, whose music July Talk described as “a revolutionary blending of soul-soothing soft pastel symphonic grooves with absolute face-melting shredding”. Big expectations to meet, but Hannah Bussiere Kim and her band were up for the challenge, charming the crowd with their effortlessly cool and bubbly attitude, with Hannah flawlessly alternating between her electric guitar and a violin!
Shortly after 9pm, Leah Fay, Peter Dreimanis and the rest of July Talk emerged on stage to the sounds of Touch, in front of a frenzied crowd. Their show was, as always, the perfect balance between Peter’s over-the-top energy and Leah’s calming and whimsical presence. All in all, the Live at Last Montreal stop was a great sold-out night of alt-rock, and we cannot wait for the next time July Talk comes into town!

Hi there! My name is Marie, I am French born and raised, now living in Montreal. I work in Marketing by day, and I’m an avid concert-goer by night. I have always had a passion for photography, and realized that this mixes quite well with my love for live music (the absolute best way to experience music, if you ask me).
