Greetings readers of the best in Canadian music, it’s music Monday and time for the Weekly Beat Down. The recurring competition that we like to feature here on our website, with you the fans voting on your favourite. There will be two songs put against each other that you will get to choose between. Whichever one of those has the most votes will proceed to the next round as usual. But after six weeks in a row on the competition, they will be retired to our Hall of Fame in the week following. But I will also be recommending some amazing articles from the website in this video presented below. You can call them Zach’s picks of the week and they are worth looking at, trust me. However, let’s get into the competition now that we’re all here for and eager to enjoy.
First up is of course our reigning champions for the last five weeks in a row, moving into their final week of the competition. Vancouver, British Columbia heavy metal band Celestial Ruin have just about done it, with their cleverly named single “See U Nxt Tuezday”. If you haven’t already be sure to stream the heck out of there song on all your favourite streaming platforms. It was produced by the incredible Jay Van Poederooyen who is worked with acts like Nickelback, Hinder, and Devein Townsend in the past. If of course, you enjoy their song, be sure to show your support by voting this week. Potentially you could get them in the Hall of Fame, or this maybe the end of the road for them. It’s all up to you to vote and check out the music video for “See U Nxt Tuezday” by Celestial Ruin, here on the Weekly Beat Down.
Next up in the competition is someone who is no stranger to this showdown. Hailing from Alliston Ontario we’ve got a country singer superstar Nicole Rayy, who’s got a brand new single and video out now. The new track “Feels Like Yesterday” is of course available on all streaming platforms, that you like to take in music. Just recently our very own Nanci Dagg interviewed Nicole about the new video, which I suggest you visit that through this link here if you would like to take a look. Nicole Rayy is a big supporter of empowerment for female artists, she helped organize and host her second annual all-female festival called Harmonia Fest this last weekend. If you enjoy Nicole Rayy’s new single “Feels Like Yesterday”, can you can show your support by voting in this week’s competition. But you can also just check out the full music video for her single “Feels Like Yesterday” right here.
Those will be your choices for our Weekly Beat Down competition this week. Be sure to select your favourite song and hit the anonymous vote button to submit. Remember you have from Monday to Saturday night to cast your votes and get your friends involved. Share the hashtag #WeeklyBeatDown to help out your favourite song this week. But good luck to our two songs and artists, let’s have a clean fight out there!
