Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hi friends! My name is Justine Lynn and I am a Country singer-songwriter from Vancouver. Some of my musical influences include Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Dolly Parton and more recently Miranda Lambert and Cam, which I hope you hear some of these incredible artists when listening to my music. Other than music, my loves and passions run deep with my animals, Disney, a beer on a beach anywhere in the world and never losing a sense of childlike wonder!
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
Much like many things in life, my music has evolved over the years as I have. I have always released or written music that has touched a part of my journey and expressed a feeling, or situation that I can connect with. I love an engaging, catchy melody, but I have always been drawn to a well-written lyric. Where the story is told in a unique way and a great play on words. I love co-writing with other artists and seeing what two or more people can bring together to create!
How have you been keeping creative during the Pandemic?
The creative process during the pandemic has been filled with lots of zoom co-writes, as with many artists. I have also been so lucky to release a single, with another on the way soon 😉 as to keep the juices flowing and put some good into the world!
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
If someone was to listen to one of my songs, I would love them to consider “Pour it to me Straight”. I feel it sums up the sound and vibe of Justine Lynn!
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
There are so many incredibly talented Canadian artists out there, but as I Country artist myself, I would have to lean on who I am. Some of my FAVOURITE Canadian country artists include Shania Twain, Dallas Smith, Meghan Patrick, Tenille Townes, The Heels, and Cross Parallel.
I’m Jenna, and I am the founder and editor of Canadian Beats. I have had a strong love for Canadian music, which started many years ago. I have a passion for promoting these talented Canadian bands and artists, and that’s how Canadian Beats came to be. I am so proud of what it has become over the last few years, with many talented music lovers and writers coming together to spread the word of Canada’s music.
