You’ll absolutely get into “that state of mind” when you listen to this Canadian country powerhouse’s newest single “Feels Like Yesterday” and it’s a classic Nicole Rayy tune right from the start for all of you that recognize her music and talent. This soon-to-be smash hit is Rayy’s love letter to the ’90s and all the amazing trends that she and her friends experienced during that time.
This track was written by Nicole Rayy, David Madras, and Matt Teed was produced by Brian Howes and was recorded at Armoury Studios in Vancouver. “Feels Like Yesterday” starts off with a retro guitar riff, then you hear Rayy’s soaring, “pop-fuelled vocals” reminisce on the pop culture of her youth, with the sentimentality cemented by a sample of Third Eye Blind’s “Semi-Charmed Life” in the chorus.
If you’re feeling nostalgic, and who doesn’t in the summer, this feel-good single will bring back all the feels. Rayy shares this about this track,
““Feels Like Yesterday” is pure nostalgia for growing up in the ’90s. Whether you were born then or you were living your teenage years in the ’90s, I am hoping this song will transport you back to that time in your life. My co-writers and I really wanted to include references most of us could relate to from that era in our lives, from singing Britney Spears to memorizing your friends’ home phone numbers. So, burn this one on a mix CD and crank it up on your boombox!”

Hi all. I’m Nanci Dagg. I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and have lived my entire life here. There is nothing I like better than supporting local artists followed by supporting Canadian artists. Although I was a classic rock gal, my go to genre is country. Something about this music that just makes me feel great. I can be found at most country music concerts and shows (from someone’s house to really large venues) taking lots of pictures. Music and photography are two of my passions. Add to this mix, writing about artists, well let’s say, life doesn’t get better than this.
