Happy music Monday and a happy belated Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there!! Welcome to a new round of our competition the Weekly Beat Down. Two amazing Canadian songs will face off for your votes, from Monday to Saturday night. The song with the most votes will continue on to the next round, so be sure to get your votes in. I’ve also got some incredible recommendations on Zach’s picks of the week. You can find all of this great music in the video just below, so let’s check it out!
The first song joining us on the show this week passed the halfway mark and is moving towards his fourth round of the Beat Down. Toronto singer-songwriter Niall Sexton and his incredible latest single “SKiN” is back once again. The new song can be found on all streaming services that you like to listen to music on. Niall definitely seems to have a very dedicated fan base behind him, supporting him every week in the competition. If you’re one of those people, then you know where to cast your votes. But please before you do that, be sure to watch the full video for “SKiN” one time below.
The second song and artist joining us is from Montreal, QC. Indie rockers Half Moon Run have released their new video and single “On & On”, coming off their upcoming EP Inwards & Outwards. The new EP is set to be released on June 18th, but the new single is available now on all streaming platforms. The new video for the single is an amazing animated video done by Alex Tomlinson, it features futuristic, “live facial tracking” of the band’s faces. Check it out in the video below and if you enjoy the song, be sure to show your support in the Beat Down this week.
Those are going to be the two songs facing off for your votes, so it’s up to you now! Get your friends involved by sharing with the hashtag “#WeeklyBeatDown” to ensure your favourite wins this week. You have from Monday to Saturday night to cast your votes by hitting that “Anonymous” vote button. But who will you choose? Only you know that my friend.
