Vancouver, BC-based dark folk band, Hollow Twin has unveiled their newest single, “Lying“, which is the third single from their upcoming LP, Soft Hearts. “Lying” was recorded in 2020, after much rescheduling and safety planning due to the pandemic, at Afterlife Studios in Vancouver, BC. It was produced, mixed, and engineered by John Raham, co-produced by the band, and mastered by Brock McFarlane (CPS Mastering).
“Lying” is about looking at the past with rose coloured glasses. Written about a past relationship and how all of the bad parts fall away in our memories, and only the good stuff remains. Are we lying to ourselves to make us happy? It’s about walking the line between reality and a dreamscape.
The track includes lush string arrangements and a french horn. With Laura Reznek on violin, Jonah Ocean on cello and Nick Anderson on french horn creating a nostalgic, sweeping landscape.
