David James releases new single, “Don’t Mind If I Do”

Winnipegger and MCMA Male Artist of the Year David James, just as Spring has sprung so has his first single release of 2021 with “Don’t Mind If I Do” via MDM Recordings Inc./Universal Music Canada. Sarah Buxton, Corey Crowder, and Cale Dodds wrote this “most fun” tune. Dan Swinimer produced it out of his studio, Manicdown Productions, in South Surrey, BC and James recorded the vocals in Winnipeg at Exchange District Studios. Swininer and James have been working together, as a great team, for many years! In fact, this is their eighth single together!

James is excited to share with his fans this new song that has “punchy vocals, a dose of traditional twang and feel good, tongue-in-cheek lyricism that is sure to shake off the last of the winter blues.” And, who would not like to do precisely that? On a side note, did you know that David James is also a star behind the bar (besides being this awesome country artist he’s also worked in the hospitality industry for many years)? So, with this warm weather upon us, why not listen to “Don’t Mind If I Do” with a super cold cocktail of your choice in a tribute to James and this single.

In an exclusive to Canadian Beats, James had this to say about “Don’t Mind If I Do,”

“We had an absolute blast recording this one, and it totally shines through. We’ve all got a side that’s a little wild, a little reckless and maybe even a little crazy – but this song’s about just getting to be loved just as you are … crazy and all. It definitely captures a refreshed feeling; an exciting and joyous energy. This song is the MOST fun, and I can’t wait for everyone to listen all summer long!”
