Brett Kingswell shares “The Questions Burn” to help bring attention to #SuicideAwareness

Canadian country singer-songwriter Brett Kingswell has released his new single, “The Questions Burn”, which was cowritten by Paula Watters.

When Paula and her husband Frank approached Brett after losing a family member to suicide, they brought the idea for a song that they wished to co-write & release. Paula had written some very personal and emotionally driven lyrics that denoted the story of her husband Frank, an O.P.P. Officer, who had found his brother after tragically taking his own life. They teamed up with Brett to combine his trademark voice, musical artistry, and passion for mental health to develop the song and story.

Together, they created the song, and in November 2020, recorded it at Escarpment Sound Studios in Fergus, ON with renowned country music producer, Brian Hewson. Some of Canada’s finest musicians took part and formulated the emotional, cause worthy and timely single. The musicians included Wendall Ferguson, Ed Ringwald, Jim Boudreau, and Shane Guse.

Frank Kempf shares,

“Suicide-related calls are numerous during these times of isolation and we need to get these numbers down.”

We, at Canadian Beats, wanted to share the lyric video for the release, and as today is #BellLetsTalk day, it is a perfect time. Check out the video below, and Brett shares the following message to each and every one of you.

“We want to echo the sentiments of the story, our slogan #SuicideAwareness, and do our part in encouraging action over reaction. To let others know that they’re not alone and that if they or anyone close to them is struggling, please reach out to a local mental health organization. If we can positively affect one life, this song, and the heart-wrenching catalyst behind it, will not be in vain.”
