Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Madison Strip is a 4-piece hard-rock band from Newfoundland, Canada.

We are very passionate about our music! Our vision is purely to chase our dreams in hopes of building and rekindling unity in the heart of music scenes while honouring the era’s that brought us here.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

Raspy male and unique female vocal, heavy-hitting drums, signature guitar and head-banging bass. We use catchy riffs and write about complex subjects from various perspectives, that we believe are merited by today’s realities. Lyrical aspects are very important to us.

How have you been keeping creative during the pandemic?

It is a different time for everyone, but we’ve been trying our best to use free time wisely and stay productive artistically. We’ve been recording and releasing singles, organizing photo shoots, entering national contests, promoting our website, launching merchandise and whatever we possibly can to stay focused on our passions. Most of our local scene’s venues have closed, but we are hopeful that the scene will survive, and when the pandemic subsides, we can’t wait to rock the stage again! We may be looking into a live stream performance in the near future so stay tuned for that!

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

This is a very tough question. We try not to pick favourites and believe every song is uniquely special. That being said, we are very proud of our newest release “Burn and Turn” and wouldn’t think twice on suggesting it. Here are some links to the song!

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

So many to mention! Our Lady Peace, Finger Eleven, Rush, the Tragically Hip, Saint Asonia, The Tea Party, Alanis Morissette, Billy Talent, Nickelback, Metric, Barenaked Ladies, Blue Rodeo, July Talk, and the list goes on!
