Montreal, QC-based Laroie released her debut EP back in August, unveiling a dazzling pop with hints of sensuous R&B and the shimmer of electro and dance music.
Today, she unveils her single, “Fire Rising”, along with a powerful music video in which she explores the contrasts between the elements.
“I wrote ‘Fire Rising’ in collaboration with Robert Robert during a creative retreat that I organized at the beginning of the year. The song speaks of passion and of the tension that sometimes puts forward the “flaws” brought out by relationships. How sometimes the line is thin between a relationship that uplifts us and one that hurts us. It’s about being willing to play with fire and the desire to embrace it even if it burns you…”
The video, which was directed by Derek Branscombe, explores the opposition that lies in this raw energy driven by the intense passion inherent in our bodies. It ultimately creates a psychedelic trip through fire and ice, representing the two very different states that cohabit in all of us.
