Less than a month after the release of her debut album Real Life, Victoria Anthony has surpassed 1 MILLION streams on Spotify for the new record, as well as 1.1 MILLION views for the music video for the title track.
This accomplishment solidifies Anthony’s status as one of the most listened to and watched independent recording artists in Canada.
Real Life is the culmination of Anthony’s relentless work ethic, an unwavering determination to follow her dreams, and involvement that goes beyond simply being a voice on a song.
From songwriting, pre-production, recording, mixing, and mastering, Victoria was attentive to every detail on Real Life, including having played an active role in her branding, on the artistic and visual aesthetics related to everything from the album artwork and singles covers, to conceptualizing her music videos.
Now, she has unveiled the 4th music video from Real Life, entitled “Breathe Underwater”. The video was co-directed by Anthony. There is an understated sense of melancholy flowing throughout the song but assures the listener that nothing is impossible with the right mindset.
“When I came up with the concept for the video I knew I wanted to co-direct it too,” said Anthony. “I had a talented crew of people working with me to help bring my vision to life. The whole process from start to finish was an amazing learning experience”.
