Kayla Diamond had originally planned to celebrate her upcoming wedding surrounded by friends and family, but 2020 had other plans for the Toronto-based singer-songwriter.
But Diamond is forging ahead with a live-streamed ceremony and marking the occasion with her new single and video, “always been you.”
The song, inspired by her love for her fiance, is a free-flowing expression of all-consuming love for and by only one person that can be felt universally. Directed by Cazhhmere (Melanie Fiona, Kardinal Offishall, and Classified), the video relays the warmth of being head over heels in love with that special someone.
Since her debut 2017 EP release Beautiful Chaos, “What You’re Made Of” and “Carnival Hearts” have climbed Canadian radio charts and appeared on massive Spotify playlists like New Music Now, Pop All Day, New Music Friday Canada, and Contemporary Blend. Beautiful Chaos was followed up by her EP Dirty Laundry in 2019.
“always been you” is now available for streaming on all major platforms, while the video is available to watch via YouTube.
