When: August 29, 2020
Where: HarmoniaFest, Milton ON
The Italian Cultural Centre of Milton presented HarmoniaFest as part of their Summer Drive-In Concert Series. The festival was a showcasing of some of the great Canadian female country talent as well as a fundraiser for Halton’s Women’s Place an organization providing shelter and crisis services for physically, emotionally, financially, and sexually abused women and their dependent children.
Under the hashtag #GirlPowerForever, the show did not disappoint.
The Festival was kicked off with two acoustic sets. One by Suzi Kory and the other by Mackenzie Leigh Meyer.
As the evening progressed the festival was treated to high energy sets by Bree Taylor, Alessia Cohle, Nicole Rayy, and Leah Daniels.
The mutual respect and support between these performers was palpable and one of the main reasons to launch HarmoniaFest.
Mackenzie Leigh Meyer:
“Bringing women together in harmony, celebrate women in country music and support this killer all-female lineup!” states the promo material. There was talk of making this a yearly event.

Live music photography allows me to combine two great passions. As a life long music fan and off and on photographer this a great match. From shooting small dark shows that leave me cursing the lack of light but energize me with their intensity, to large venues where larger than life productions entertain and amaze I am a fan of them all. I love living in the small town of Elora and continue to be amazed at the great calibre of musicians that come through this part of Ontario. Hoping to share some of this musical talent through my photography.
