With all major live music festivals across North America canceled or postponed this summer Diesel Bird Group, in partnership with Showpass, SteelHead Music, 604 Records, and Craig Senyk Initiatives, is proud to announce the Diesel Bird Hotel Music Festival, in support of the Unison Benevolent Fund.
Hosted by Diesel Bird co-creator, Dan Davidson, the ground-breaking and historic summer festival is set for August 7 at The Ramada Plaza Downtown in Calgary, AB. The festival will showcase some of Canda’s hottest Country acts including emerging head-turner Kristin Carter, NBC Songland finalist Shawn Austin, two-time CCMA Award nominee JoJo Mason, award-winner Andrew Hyatt, singer-songwriter Kelly Prescott, former State of Shock rocker Kadooh, and multiple JUNO and CCMA Award winner Clayton Bellamy (The Road Hammers).
“We’re really excited to get our artists back in front of fans sharing their talent again, in a safe environment. Not having the opportunity to perform live since March has been difficult for both the artists and the fans. Not only are we proud to be able to showcase our family of artists and bring people together again, but we are honoured to support such an incredible cause.” – SteelHead Management
The festival will showcase the “Staycation” venue model, developed by event, and ticketing platform, Showpass. This concert will be the ultimate VIP summer festival experience, resembling a concert viewed from a private box suite. By design, the hotel layout provides a safe social distancing environment with individual bathrooms, room service capabilities, contactless check-in and check out, and a room to stay the night in, alleviating drinking and driving concerns and complying with all COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. The entertainment and hospitality industry have been two of the most impacted industries due to the pandemic, with the majority of major music festivals being cancelled and hotel vacancy rates on the rise. The “Staycation” concert model will assist in bringing both industries back to life.
“After seeing the success and response to the Hotels Live concert series, we started thinking of ways that we could take this concept one step further. We’ve now expanded our network of hotel partners, artists, and have begun working with amazing festivals partners like Diesel Bird to revive and support live music throughout Canada and the U.S ” said Lucas McCarthy, Showpass CEO.
