Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is M.O. Littles. I’m a Toronto based hip hop artist but am often on the road doing shows. Up until recently, that is, but hopefully be back to it once things clear up a bit.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

I really draw from life experience in my writing. A lot of my music is based on relationships and experiences I’ve gone through. I need to be inspired by a beat and let the concept and melody organically build from there. I also really like to have fun with my music and not take anything too seriously.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

Normally, this question would be a resounding yes, as I tend to be on tour quite often. Unfortunately, I do not have any shows lined up until the coast is clear of COVID. I did have a bunch of European dates scheduled from May & June that had to be canceled but hope to reschedule them once we all get the go-ahead.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

That is a really tough question to answer. I think I may have to say “Your Song” which pays homage to all the wonderful women who have helped raise me.

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

Well, one of my all-time fav Canadian bands is The Tragically Hip. RIP Gord Downie. But currently, I’d have to say I really like what Jessie Reyez and Tory Lanez are each doing.
