Ontario’s own The Smile Case is made up of Ben Andress (guitar/vocals), Shane McElhone (bass/ vocals), and Jackson Cronmiller (drums/ vocals). The trio released their album, The Greatest Depression on May 8, 2020. Now, they have unveiled a video for their single, “Can’t Hide On The Moon”.
Ben Andress shares on the single,
“During the process of the making the new album my cousin who is a big Star Wars fan was giving me shit for writing dark lyrics. So I decided to write a song about the infamous battle that happened on the Moon of Endor all those years ago in that one galaxy super far away. This is a perfect example of classic ‘Smile Case’ It really reminds me of the songs I was writing in my bedroom while I was at film school”
The video was made by Justis Krar (IMMV Productions/ Single Mothers) and is a real brain-melter.
“The video was made by good friend Justis Krar and I’m always happy with the results he provides. Justis and IMMV Productions has made a few videos for us and I just trust his vision and creativity. Every time I see the final results the collaborate effort of matching visuals with audio turns it into the track into a whole new entity of its own. It’s always mind melting and just gives me a ‘at home’ feeling working with Justis” shares Ben.
