In celebration of announcing their new LP, Like A Rising Sun, alt-rockers Shred Kelly have dropped a fresh new single.
“Disconnect” sees the band capture doom and gloom emotions in a six-and-a-half-minute epic with an anthemic chorus and smooth verses. The band says that the song was inspired by disagreements in general, along with the inability for someone to place themselves in the shoes of another.
“‘Disconnect’ is a song about not being able to see eye to eye with somebody about damaging trends you can see beginning to repeat themselves;” shares the band. “It’s how you can begin to sound like a broken record when you’re advocating for something you feel strongly about with someone who is resistant to seeing another point of view. The song conveys both the frustration about the difficulty of communication and connecting but it’s still framed in this intense desire or need to connect. Written before the current events of the world, but now strangely the lyrics seem to mirror what is currently happening in the world around us,” says the band.
Like A Rising Sun is set to release on June 19th via DevilDuck Records. Stream the album’s lead single, “Dead Leaves”.
