Juno Award-winning Scottish-Canadian singer Johnny Reid has released a new song titled “People Like You,” as a tribute to the people of Nova Scotia after the tragedy that happened on April 18–19. All proceeds from the song will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross’ “Stronger Together Nova Scotia Fund.” This will provide support to the individuals, families and communities for both immediate and long-term needs. For those who wish to, you can also donate directly to the Red Cross HERE. A limited supply of physical CDs, postcards and shirts are being sold on Johnny Reid’s website—also all in support for the Stronger Together Nova Scotia Fund.
Johnny shares, “When people we love are suddenly taken from us we are left with broken hearts full of unspoken words. I want the people of Nova Scotia to know my heart is with them, I want them to know they are not alone. I want to show them the same love, support and respect they’ve always shown me.”
I’m Shayla, and I was born in Saskatoon but moved to Halifax in 2013 for University, and since decided to stay here for a while. I recently received a Bachelor of Design, after studying photography for a year or two as well. I love everything about music and how it has the ability to bring so many people together from across the country and even the world. My passion for music is one of the reasons I moved East to pursue a photography and design career, as I would love to do graphic design and photography within the Canadian music industry.
