Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Gus Englehorn. I am originally from Anchorage, Alaska. I have been living in the province of Quebec (between Montreal, Quebec City, and Fossambault) for the past 5 years.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style

I am a dadaist in the way that I sort of collage disparate ideas together until they form a coherent or at least a semi-understandable storyline. I do this mostly through songs written on acoustic guitar which are then transferred to electric guitar and arranged with the help of my wife. Much like the philosopher Descartes, I prefer working from bed, where I spend the majority of the day.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

Sadly, all of our shows have been canceled due to Covid-19. Some have described our performances as endearing and slightly awkward. We try to be energetic, keep our guitars in tune, and play to the best of our abilities.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

Stay little

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

Wut, Dishpit, Victime
