The pair of brothers that make up High Valley, Brad and Curtis Rempel, are back with a brand new single off of their upcoming EP.
“Grew Up On That” tells the story of the Rempel brothers’ childhood growing up in rural Alberta and was announced to be the title track of their new EP when the song dropped on Friday.
High Valley are set to release their new EP, Grew Up On That, on May 8. Here is Brad Rempel talking about the new record:
“We have spent a lot of time in the past couple of years explaining what we grew up without, having spent our childhoods living in a pretty remote area,” Brad said. “This time around we wanted to let people know more of our story and exactly what we did have – what made us who we are – and what we grew up on.”
Hi, my name is Max. I’m a journalism student currently on placement here at Canadian Beats. I grew up in the GTA, but I’ve been around Ontario a little bit for school in the past few years. I think in a lot of ways the landscape of Canadian music is partially shaped by the journalists who choose to dedicate their time to giving it exposure. By promoting and contributing to a healthy media environment for Canadian artists, journalists contribute in their own way to keeping a strong Canadian music identity alive. I’m excited to hopefully be a small part of that contribution over the next few weeks.
