The Winnipeg Folk Festival unveiled their lineup for this year’s edition of the festival, which will feature performances from Vance Joy, Tegan and Sara, Alan Doyle, John Prine, Tash Sultana, KALEO, and many more.
Back in its 47th year, the annual festival will be taking place from July 9-12 at Birds Hill Provincial Park and will feature over 70 artists in total, as well as two special workshops.
Here is what organizers had to say about the lineup:
“We are thrilled to finally share the 2020 Winnipeg Folk Festival lineup with everyone. With the support of our incredible community, we’ve been able to bring artists from all over and who appeal to all ages, from Canadian indie pop twins Tegan and Sara to Grammy Award-winning folk legend John Prine. The combination of our amazing artist lineup with the special projects we have planned this year will really bring together our artistic vision of presenting strong and diverse talent that will resonate with our audience.”

Hi, my name is Max. I’m a journalism student currently on placement here at Canadian Beats. I grew up in the GTA, but I’ve been around Ontario a little bit for school in the past few years. I think in a lot of ways the landscape of Canadian music is partially shaped by the journalists who choose to dedicate their time to giving it exposure. By promoting and contributing to a healthy media environment for Canadian artists, journalists contribute in their own way to keeping a strong Canadian music identity alive. I’m excited to hopefully be a small part of that contribution over the next few weeks.
