Five Questions With Famba

Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc. EDM recording artist Famba has recently released his debut EP, Wishes Vol. 1. Following the success of 2019 singles “Wish You Well (feat. Trove”, “Swear To God” and “Storm”, he adds 3 new tracks to the debut EP. His latest single, “I Feel Your Pain ft. David Aubrey” takes it up a notch.

No other song I’ve been a part of has impacted me as emotionally as “I Feel Your Pain”. I hope it gives comfort to those who need it the most and reminds people to be there for each other. Everyone is going through something and we all struggle at times,” says Famba.

Check out the live video of “Swear To God” below and if you’re in Calgary or Edmonton this weekend, be sure to catch his upcoming shows.

We caught up with Famba for our newest segment of Five Questions With, enjoy!

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey, what’s up, everyone! My name is Ryan AKA Famba, and I’m a DJ/Producer/Song-Writer from Halifax Nova Scotia. I’ve been producing music for about 7 years, and have been obsessed with dance music for as long as I can remember 🙂

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

If I was to describe my approach to music, I’d say I try and walk the line of dance and pop music. I gravitate towards real and raw lyrics paired with uplifting production. Some of my songs are more club leaning, some are more pop-leaning, and some are a combination of both. It totally depends on how I’m feeling

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

I do! I have two shows coming up in Calgary & Edmonton with Young Bombs and another show at Jibfest in Newfoundland! I would describe my shows as highly energetic, a healthy mix of instrumental club tracks and vocal tracks. I make a ton of edits/Mash-ups just for live shows.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

I really like all of the new music that I just released off the EP, so it’s hard to say… But I think I would say “Swear To God”. I think that songs can be enjoyed by dance music fans and fans of pop music!

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

Loud Luxury, Shaun Frank, Dzeko, DLMT, Lennon Stella just to name a few… There are so many great artists here in Canada it’s insane!
