Vancouver, BC-based Dalannah Gail Bowen has released a video for her single, “Somebody’s Watchin’ You”.
The release is the latest to come from her fifth and most recent studio album Looking Back, out via Quest Records and with support from Creative BC and the Province of British Columbia.
“The album also takes a hard look back at our world, and our cultures,” Bowen adds of the genesis behind Looking Back. “It takes a look towards our future, too.”

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hi, My name is Dalannah Gail Bowen and I am a 74-year-old blues/jazz/gospel singer born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and I have lived in Vancouver since 1976. I am of mixed black/First Nations heritage and I have been singing since I was twenty years of age.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
My music is who I am. I don’t copy anyone or try to sound like anyone. I will share that about ten years ago, I had an epiphany when I was singing a song. what happened is there was a moment where there was no separation between me and what I was singing. “I was the song”
I have been fortunate to win an honourable mention in the Billboard Songwriting Competition. My songwriting and songs come from tapping into how I feel about something…having a theme, sitting on it for a few days…smiles..and bringing that to the page.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
