Who: Atmosphere, The Lioness, Nikki Jean
Where: Corona Theater, Montreal QC
When: January 18th 2020
Last night, Montrealers braved the blizzard to warm up at the Corona Theater with a very hot lineup, with Atmosphere’s The Wherever Tour stopping in town. The evening started with performances by the bubbly singer-songwriter Nikki Jean, shortly followed by rap powerhouse The Lioness. Both performers did a stellar job at getting the crowd from frozen to warmed up, and ready for the headliners.
Right before 10pm, Atmosphere appeared on stage, in front of an audience ready to rap the night away. Within a few seconds, rapper Slug and DJ/Producer Ant got the crowd in the palm of their hand, and did not let it go for the remainder of the night. Going through old hits and newer tracks from their latest album “Whenever”, the Twin Cities duo showed that they’ve been in the hip-hop game for more than 20 years but their music hasn’t aged one bit. Frontman Slug charmed the crowd with his undeniable charisma during a surprisingly wholesome set for a hip-hop show, “I fucking love you” being his catchphrase for the night.

Hi there! My name is Marie, I am French born and raised, now living in Montreal. I work in Marketing by day, and I’m an avid concert-goer by night. I have always had a passion for photography, and realized that this mixes quite well with my love for live music (the absolute best way to experience music, if you ask me).
