Vancouver, BC-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Alex Maher has unveiled his video for “Dream Final”, which is the title track from his upcoming EP, Dream Final which is set for release on February 21, 2020. Dream Final is Alex Maher’s third solo EP and he tackles some weighty subject matter on it, like global issues from climate change and social alienation in the digital age. On his first single “Dream Final”, Alex focuses on the many problems that modern society is currently facing.
The video was directed by Vancouver writer/director Jeevin Johal. He shares,
“We’re all striving for success, but the pathway to the finish line is often fraught with struggle. In ‘Dream Final,’ we step away from the daily grind and travel down a rabbit hole to a place where we are free from the constraints of the modern world, allowing us to reflect on our past and remind ourselves that, though the journey may be lonely, it can be wondrous if looked upon with a positive attitude.”
Alex shares on the video,
“The video for ‘Dream Final’ is a symbolic take on the song’s lyrics. It’s about taking a step back from the grind of jobs and routines that dominate our thoughts to gain perspective on how we can make a difference in a time where it seems like we’re more divided than ever. Making the video was an exercise in that. Shooting outside, mid-December in Canada was challenging, but rewarding. We looked for most beautiful parts of the day’s light that we could capture, and it made for some incredible visuals. The video encapsulates a moment of reflection to find some glimmer of hope and beauty in a backdrop of anxiety.”
