The first SPEAK MUSIC Be Kind Festival announced its 2020 lineup!

Organizers of the first annual SPEAK MUSIC Be Kind Festival are excited to announce a thrilling lineup and proudly declare the festival gender-balanced! In what might be a first for a non-gender-specific Canadian music festival, of the 51 performers in all (and three open stages), 26 performers are all-female-identifying, or fronted by female-identifiers.Of the rest, 20 performers are all male-identifying, or fronted by male-identifiers, and five duos or bands are composed equal numbers of male- and female-identifying people. The three open stages are all gender-neutral.

Among the many gems in the mix are award-winning blues outfit Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar; soulful, modern pop diva-in-a-good-way ECHLO (Chloe Charles); larger-than-life country band Johnson Crook; powerhouse vocalist Chloe Watkinson; folk/soul/jazz artist Lydia Persaud; frenzied electro-violinist Dr. Draw; superb pop-rock singer-songwriter Rob Szabo; accordionist extraordinaire and spoken-word artist Gary Kreller; conscious R&B singer-songwriter Shi Wisdom; high-energy jazz/punk trumpeter Mike Field (whose band includes explosive sax player Paul Metcalfe); the solo-acoustic version of rock ‘n’ soul bandleader Julian Taylor; and many more.
