Canadian Beats Passport: IN PHOTOS – The Offspring and Sum 41 in Laval, QC

Who: The Offspring, Sum 41
Where: Place Bell, Laval QC
When: November 17th, 2019

Last night, thousands of punk rock fans made their way to a sold-out Place Bell for a very exciting double bill. After a short opening set by British alt-rockers Dinosaur Pile-Up, the crowd started growing in size and excitement as the clock approached 8pm, the time for the first headliner of the night. The minute the Ontario rockers of Sum 41 hit the stage, the crowd absolutely lost it, jumping up and down to match the energy levels of frontman Deryck Whibley.

After a quick intermission to let the audience catch its breath, The Offspring arrived on stage under a thunder of screams. Dexter Holland’s crew might have been around for many years now, but their set truly showed why they have been around for that long, and why they’re here to stay. With non-stop energy, the band played their biggest hits, in front of a crowd belting out every word to those throwbacks. The band was visibly surprised by the energy of the audience, shortly declaring this stop in Laval their “favourite show ever”.
