Where: Ausgang Plaza, Montreal QC
When: November 14, 2019
It had been a while since we attended a show from Geoffroy in Montreal! Apart from a headlining set at the Mile Ex End Festival back in September, the artist made himself discreet over the two past year, retreating to work on his 2nd album, 1952, which released earlier this month.
Last night, we headed over to the concept space that is Ausgang Plaza, for a special show celebrating the release of the record. In front of a crowd of friends, family and a handful of lucky fans, Geoffroy and his band played tracks from the extremely personal and emotional album, created as a tribute to his mother who passed away from cancer in 2017. To accompany this performance, part of the space was turned into an exhibition corner, with family pictures and depictions of the band’s trip to India to shoot the video for “21 Days”. Anyone at Ausgang Plaza last night could agree on one thing: the evening was an emotional look into Geoffroy’s life these past few months, leaving everyone truly touched and excited for his next set of shows (including a concert at Montreal’s Corona Theater in March 2020).

Hi there! My name is Marie, I am French born and raised, now living in Montreal. I work in Marketing by day, and I’m an avid concert-goer by night. I have always had a passion for photography, and realized that this mixes quite well with my love for live music (the absolute best way to experience music, if you ask me).
