Friday Night of Halifax Pop Explosion held court to too many, many, MANY amazing bands at so many fantastic venues that Halifax has to offer! I was able to get to Bearly’s House of Blues to catch the first set of Ryan Cook & Sunny Acres, who performed a fantastic set of Ryan Cook Catalogue, blended in with some fabulous Buck Owens Tribute. Mixed with Ryan’s down to earth good nature humour, and great storytelling, the overly packed house still made room on the dance floor to cut a rug in amazing fashion!
I then stopped in to catch Nicolette and the Nobodies and Caveboy at the Carleton, one of my favourite places to hear live music! This venue has an amazing atmosphere, and perfect for the small bands that graced the stage that night! A fun time had by all!
