On Friday night, The Marquee Ballroom was the place to be. Local outfit OUTTACONTROLLER, Weakened Friends from out of town, and of course, the one and only PUP, blew the roof off the place. With a fantastic lineup like that, the excitement in the room could only keep growing all night long as each band played incredible, high energy sets. I had the pleasure of being in the middle of the absolutely wild audience the last time PUP was in town, so this time it was nice to be among the photographers in the media pit; MOSTLY safe from the flying sweat, beer, arms, and shoes. As prophesized by Weakened Friends’ guitarist, Sonia Sturino, we all almost landed in the harbour by the time PUP had finished rocking our socks off!
