Album: Revolution Part 1
Release Date: October 11, 2019
Genre: Country
It’s been two years, but Canadian country artist Jason Benoit is back with new music and a new album for your listening pleasure. Recorded with Toronto producer Gabe Balluci (who’s known for working with the likes of Shawn Mendes and Francesco Yates), Revolution Pt. 1 showcases a brand new and elevated style. Benoit mashes modern country with the old and does it with grace. He mixes beautiful and powerful ballads with high-energy fun songs to create a unique album to call his own.
The album features seven songs that backs up the mix between new and old. While “Saturday’s For the Girls” is a modern-day anthem, the duet featuring Leah Daniels gives more of a 90s vibe. And for a real throwback, the last track on the album “When We Know” brings memories reminiscent of the 50s. The combination of different music styles keeps any listener on their toes as they make their way through the entire song list. My choice from the seven-track listing is “Two Wrongs”. It combines the right mix of old and modern country that makes it a hit. Hopefully, we will be able to hear this tune on the radio sometime soon!
This new release follows after a fantastic 2018 year. Benoit’s single “Gone Long Gone” reached certified gold status, he was a top-three finalist in SiriusXM’s Top of the Country competition and toured across Canada hitting up some of the biggest music festivals – including Cavendish Beach Music Festival and Boots and Hearts. There’s no doubt Jason Benoit is on his way up the ladder. With 2020 just around the corner, we don’t have to wait too long to see what he’s got hidden up his sleeves!
