Formed in Montreal, Canada in 2017, and comprised of Alberto D’Onofrio (Guitar), Benjamin Morris (Guitar, Vox), Matthew Grippo (Bass, Keyboards), and Jeremy Grippo (Drums, Percussion), THE UNFOUND are an exciting 4-piece band that play emotive, powerful and driving rock and roll in the vein of their biggest influences, such as Rush, David Bowie, and Foo Fighters. The Unfound are rock and roll first and foremost; loud, chaotic and urgent, but with an underpinning of infectious melody that gets stuck in your head for days.

The Montreal 4-piece are excited to announce their debut single titled ‘Sooner Or Later’, which comes with a gripping and boisterous music video to match. Led by an unstoppable heavy groove, a 70s blues-rock sensibilities, and an anthemic sing-along chorus, ‘Sooner Or Later’ is an explosive rock number and an instant crowd-favourite at gigs, which not only offers a strong and poignant message of perseverance and strength in the face of personal struggle but also perfectly captures the distinctive and signature sound of The Unfound.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

The creative process which followed led to us developing our distinct sound over a number of months. We learned about each other’s creative influences and listened to a lot of music together. The result is our band’s distinctive melodic hard rock, part British and part Canadian, with a modern delivery. Although we are definitely anchored by our classic influences, we don’t want to be completely stuck in the past. We’re playing with the classic four-piece configuration and combining that huge and timeless marshal guitar sound with an exciting vocal style that completely diverts from the classic rock framework.

As for the subject of our songs; we write are about people who are lost, or looking for their true identity. The narrator of “Sooner or Later” is talking to someone who once knew who they were, but has been through hell and is going to bounce back. I think we all feel lost at times, and the world is incredibly bewildering for everyone, especially young people who are just trying to find their place. Our songs are for them.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

We will be performing at the Montreal Grand Prix Festival on Crescent Street next June. So it’s a big one we are looking forward to. We have just finished our Ontario tour to promote our latest single “Sooner or Later”. Our live shows can be described as condensed stadium rock. It’s chaotic, loud and super energetic.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

Sooner or Later – it is our single that we just released with a music video. We are very proud of it and proud to share it with the world.
