We’ve teamed up with Toronto, ON-based RnB artist, Ro Joaquim to unveil the brand new video for “Fallin'”.
Ro shares on the single,
“Fallin’ is a story of the uncontrollable descent of a lovers heart. Love isn’t pretty, but it’s honest and raw.”
The single is catchy, yet has an intensity to it, which is also evoked in the truly beautiful video.
Check out the video below and find out more about Ro in our Five Questions With segment.
Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m Ro Joaquim, I have carved a name for myself as a spoken word poet and top-line writer, never venturing into the role of an artist until late 2018 when a producer heard my voice and saw my potential. My voice mirrors that of the soul artist of the ’70s with a modern twist.
For years I’ve been a creative mind, using my pen as a spoken word poet and as a music writer for other artists. It wasn’t until 2018 when a few different music producers heard one of my reference tracks for another artist I was working with at the time and encouraged me to try my own voice on the microphone. It has been a wild ride ever since as I work to put together my first EP set to debut in late 2019.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
I’ve had the wonderful privilege to travel the world at an early age, which introduced me to many different sounds, voices, and styles of music. All of this comes together in my recordings, making music with a unique feel, while also creating a distinct connection to my personality and life experiences.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
My shows are meant to be emotionally driven through my vulnerability. I really want to connect with the audience on a personal level so they can feel my music the same way that I do. If I’m doing a party song, I want the crowd to party with me. If I’m doing a song about a past relationship, I want the crowd to be able to think about a past relationship where they shared the same feelings.
My next show is on September 29th, we’re finalizing details, but I invite you to come feel with me.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
One song everyone should listen to would be Touchdown. It’s my first single, so it’s kind of like my baby. It was a bit nerve-racking to put my art out to the world, but the response has been great and only encouraging me to create more.
