Toronto, ON-based alt-country artist, Elyse Saunders has released a video for her newest single, “Feel You Leaving”, which was produced by Shawn Moore and co-written by Saunders, Moore, and Doug Folkins.
Inspired by a dream in which Elyse woke up singing the melody, “Feel You Leaving” made the semi-finals of the 2018 International Songwriting Contest before its release earlier this July.
“Inspiration can strike in the most amazing ways and this song just so happened to start in a dream. I woke up singing the soaring melody and then the words, ‘let these waves crash over me, wash away our memories’. I didn’t want to lose it, so I recorded the idea in my phone, took it to my co-writers and we created ‘Feel You Leaving’. It is a pretty fitting first new release since the heart of the song is about letting go of your past and embracing what is to come. Dreams can tell us a lot about what we’re going through and this song needed to come out,” says Saunders.
