Toronto, ON-based artist, Freddie Future has released his self-titled debut EP. You can check it out here.
Freddie shared with us, that the EP is the story of a breakup in slow motion, but it didn’t start out that way.
He worked alongside producer, Derek Hoffman, and began each morning with a beat & keyboard loops that Derek had been working on.
“We’d write and track the songs in the same day, a process I appreciated for it’s cathartic nature, as it was a way to process the breakup as it was happening.”
The EP features his new single, “Giving In To You”, which Freddie shares,
“‘Giving In To You‘ is about the unhealthy relationships we return to out of comfort and familiarity. Every time we go back, we get burned; we’ve known the outcome from the start. We work so hard to keep our relationships afloat, but we have to know when to walk away. We are hopeless romantics that believe in love, but it’s important to differentiate the idea of love from authentic, healthy love that is mutually rewarding.”
