Calgary, AB-based artist Tobey Kai is back with her second single, “Commandeer”, which is from her upcoming EP due out this fall.
Tobey shares on the single,
“I’m always a bit shocked when people think I’ve had nothing but blissful relationships. My journey through love has been anything but. Commandeer is a snapshot of a particularly challenging time in my life when my heart was tossed around like a yo-yo. Easy to forgive and loyal to no end, my heart was trampled on, chewed up, and spat right back in my face. I’m happy to finally be in a place where I can write about it and share it with the world. Here’s a piece of my broken heart. “
The track was written and performed by Tobey, produced by Mark Troyer of Evergreen Sound, and video by Kien.
“The Commandeer music video was a fun shoot for so many reasons. Everyone came together to make it happen and it reminded me of how blessed I am to be surrounded by love and awesome humans! We shared so many laughs and memories from the shoot, it’s just amazing. Phenomenal cinematography, on-screen chemistry, and an all-star team. My awesome co-star strikingly resembles my ex which made the video that much more authentic!”
