On Friday, Sony Music Canada recording artist, laye unveiled a video for her single, “no love lost”.
laye shares on the video,
“While the lyrics of “no love lost” speak very much to going through a bumpy relationship and the ups and downs of love, I wanted the video to reflect on the personal battles one goes through alongside that. I wanted it to be a highlight of the sort of ‘self-torture’ that you put yourself through when you’re so in love with someone but willing and wanting to make it work. I wanted it to show that, at times, it’s you holding yourself back, or the relationship back, from progressing.”
The video was shot with director, Mark Martis. The two were able to create a dark and sinister take on the song’s emotionally challenging content.
“I was very happy to have worked with director Mark Martin from Seven Seven on this video. We have had a great working relationship, collaborating on my two most recent artworks. I think we bounce ideas off each other and he embraces the ideas that I bring to the table. I’m excited about the latest art collaboration for my albumlonesome which drops July 26.”
